this afternoon during a crusade through google, i stumbled upon "Smart Textiles" out of the University College of Boras in Sweden... the program seems to be an incredible opportunity for students in the textile/fashion industry interested in smart textiles.
Barbara Jenson ravaged my soul in the best kind of way. so giddy. so overwhelmed with all the possibilities. it's solar powered. it's beautiful. i'm not going into anymore details, just check her out.

update :: sherbert whirlwind

i finished the fabric for the garment(s) that i briefly presented back in january or was it february? i can't recall... very excited about the progress. i'm considering moving away from a dress and towards a summer parka/jacket/thing. think peace, love and wovens.
additionally, i'm working on printed fabric to create a piece as bottom layer. i wove the fabric loosely to allow for visibility of prints beneath. so much to do. so many projects. this full-time job thing is really getting in the way.

a moot point?

May I just express how often lately I have felt compelled by some unknown literary force to use the phrase "moot point". However, in my post-design college (noted in effort to glaze over my lack of vocabulary and inability to otherwise eloquently verbalize most of the storm in my mind) state, I
1. didn't know it if was "mute point"
2. or perhaps it was "mood point"
3. found myself in no discussions in which a context was found appropriate

That's why I have a blog.

Now, ladies and gentlemen... should you also find yourself drifting slowly into a world where your favorite nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs are the same four letter words, let me share with you the new four letter word that in fact CAN be used in a conference room. Meet "moot". A moot point is one that references an issue that is open to discussion or debate.

So go find yourself some moot points today. Pull out your perspective and conviction and put the moot-ness back in your life.

it's spring!

a "three-fer"

a year ago yesterday i started doodling. well that's a lie. i started a long, long time ago, probably in the womb with the placenta. gross. whatever. shock value...

but a year ago i got my first linen covered, spiral bound cachet sketch book (i only remember because i drew a 4 leaf clover pattern for st. patty's day). this week, i'll finish my fourth sketchbook. so.... that's exciting. i like anniversaries, enumerating my life in frames of time, reflecting on time in relation to its pace, how it's not linear and will never be appropriately represented in a visual sense, so on and so forth...

also, today was crazy and i would love to discuss it buuuut not really. so here's a very saturated pattern to express the saturation of life i've been experiencing lately. it's great... feeling fully saturated with life.

i mean really, the easier you let life become the closer to dead you are, i didn't really know how to word that without ending it with a preposition, so here is a run on sentence and a few more words to distract you.
